They will select from a variety of papers for the interior, including watercolor, lined, blank, or fountain pen-friendly paper depending on their medium of choice. At the end of this 2-hour workshop, students will have made hardcovers using a selection of gorgeous fabric designs, know how to use coil binding tools, and used embellishments to personalize their notebook. Writing and art have always been a huge part of Dorkys' creativity with the latter passion leading her to explore watercolors, gouache, bookbinding, brush lettering, calligraphy, and developing a line of hand-illustrated stationery. Through her various art workshops, Dorkys has taught kids as young as two and adults as old as 104! And with her YouTube channel, she continues to reach other stationery lovers around the world.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAfter studying architecture at the New York Institute of Technology, Dorkys pursued a master's degree in journalism at Syracuse University. Her work has appeared in a variety of publications, including Travel + Leisure, Time Out New York, Stationery Trends, and Bon Appétit. She currently serves as the program director for Uptown Stories, a Manhattan-based nonprofit that teaches creative writing workshops for kids in her community.
