Paper Trails: A Cozy Collage + Memory Journaling Workshop with Lina

In this cozy, hands-on workshop, we’ll explore the art of memory keeping through collage journaling. I’ll guide participants through how I move from facing a blank page to building layered spreads using color, texture, and small everyday moments. I typically work in a Midori 1D1P MD Diary, but any notebook or journal style is welcome.

We’ll create a spread together using a curated mini kit of papers, stickers, PET tapes, and washi designed to make collaging feel intuitive and fun. Along the way, I’ll share approachable tips for composition, layering, and finding inspiration, plus a few gentle writing prompts to help bring personal stories onto the page.

We’ll end with a short demo on how I photograph my finished spreads to capture a soft, cozy aesthetic. This workshop is beginner-friendly and perfect for anyone who loves stationery, wants to slow down, or is looking for a meaningful creative outlet. Participants will leave with a completed spread and practical techniques they can return to again and again.

The class kit will include:

• a journal supply bundle including papers, ephemera, stickers, washi tape samples, and PET tape loops & samples from Lina's favorite brands
• a keepsake brochure featuring information to get you started on your own paper trails

What you’ll need to bring:

• a journal you use for memory keeping (Midori 1d1p or Midori grid preferred!)
• pen
• scissors
• tweezers
• any additional stationery you'd want to include in your journal spread 

Lina Nguyen - Journal With Lina 
Lina is a lifelong stationery enthusiast (her love began with Sanrio and Morning Glory supplies) who rediscovered the magic of journaling in 2017. She started with bullet journaling before falling headfirst into collage and layered spreads in 2022 — a hobby that finally gave her the perfect excuse to use the stationery she had lovingly collected for years.

She journals most consistently in Traveler’s Company inserts and Midori MD diaries, drawn to their creamy pages and versatile layouts. Her journaling practice focuses on quiet reflection, capturing everyday stories, and creating intentional, cozy compositions that blend writing with collage. Based in Wisconsin, Lina shares her life with her husband and her beloved dog Frankie (a fan favorite on her Instagram stories). She’s passionate about helping others slow down, find inspiration in small moments, and create memory-keeping pages that feel personal, comforting, and meaningful.
