Sip & Script Calligraphy Workshop with Alma Roberts

Whether you’re a stationery nerd, DIY Bride-to-be, or just a crafty individual, in this workshop you’ll be learning an introduction to modern calligraphy with a pointed dip pen and ink. We will cover all the basics and get you ready to add those special lettered details to your snail mail, wedding paper goods, home decor and more! The perfect crafty day out for all!

Class includes 1.5 hours of instruction and demonstration, a beginner’s calligraphy kit (two nibs, black ink pot, 2 letter guides, tracing paper and straight pen holder), and all materials to write on.

My love for calligraphy began over 40 years ago with a fountain pen and a rusty nib discovered in my dad's desk. What started as childhood curiosity grew through years of journaling, scrapbooking, and pen collecting, eventually leading me to modern calligraphy instruction. When my daughter needed academic support, we took a calligraphy workshop and experienced firsthand how intentional writing can improve focus, creativity, and connection.

In a fast-paced, digital world, calligraphy helps us slow down and reconnect with the joy of writing. I've taught over 500 students through Sip & Script in Houston, helping them feel confident and excited to continue their calligraphy journey.
