Fountain Pen Basics with Lisa Vanness

What will you learn? - parts of a fountain pen including common nib sizes and what works best for various handwriting styles, common filling systems, how to use cartridges and bottled inks, and most important -how to clean and store the pens. Please bring your current favorite paper (for testing), a paper towel and a cup of water.

P.S. This will be hands on so everyone will be filling and emptying a fountain pen. Wear white clothes with caution.

About Lisa Vanness:

Lisa Vanness spent most of her career in the mental health field. After years of enjoying journaling and general creative arts, she joined her husband's 3rd generation family business to work in marketing and product development. Vanness has developed a large inventory of fountain pen ink, but their real knowledge is in the details of the fountain pens themselves. 

Lisa is a left-handed fountain pen user, and she doesn't smear her ink! She has been a speaker at various Pen shows and conferences across the US and enjoys teaching a new generation the importance of writing especially with a fountain pen. She enjoys spending time with family on outdoor adventures.

By purchasing this ticket, you agree to the following terms:
  1. Workshops are non-refundable, non-transferable or redeemable for cash, and all sales are final.  We have committed to compensating our instructors for their time, supplies and talent.  
  2. If you can't make it on the actual day, you will get the kit to finish the project at home. Workshop materials must be picked up in person from our store Little Craft Place and will not be mailed to participants who are unable to attend.
  3. In the event a workshop is cancelled, attendees will be fully refunded within 10 days of the event. Little Craft Fest/Little Craft Place reserve the right to cancel any class due to lack of participation.
  4. Workshops are not included in the daily pass.
  5. Ticket holders grant Little Craft Fest/Little Craft Place permission to use their recorded likeness at the event, with the understanding that these images and videos may be used for future promotional activities.
  6.  Little Craft Fest/Little Craft Place reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any participant from the venue at their discretion.
  7. Little Craft Fest/Little Craft Place is not liable for any personal or financial harm incurred at the venue, nor for any lost, stolen, or misplaced items.
