Kyo No Oto - Imayouiro NO.02 Ink
About The Collection:
"Kyoto no Oto" is a series of writing inks that recreate traditional Japanese colors used since the Heian period with modern techniques and interpretations. Each color has its own unique name and story.
This dye ink was developed exclusively by TAG STATIONERY in collaboration with the Kyoto Plant Dyeing Laboratory, a group of dyeing and weaving experts.
This is a distinctive ink that takes advantage of the bleeding characteristic of dyes to create a gradation of light and dark shades.
- Because dye ink dissolves in water, you can use it to write with the ink and then use a water brush to blur or thin the color, allowing you to create a variety of different expressions.
About The Ink:
The word imayouiro means "the fashionable color at the moment," and refers to the red color dyed with safflower that was popular during the Heian period. This shows how popular it was with the women of the imperial court at that time.
