Midori has rigorously tested this paper with various writing instruments to ensure quality, checking for ink feathering or bleeding, drying time, the smoothness of pen tips on the surface, and the tactile feel. The result is a paper that resists bleeding and feathering and is fountain-pen friendly, ensuring a satisfying writing experience. 

This notebook is made with soft, airy paper containing 20% cotton pulp, giving it a smooth, gentle texture and an elegant writing experience. The airy cotton pulp adds depth to your handwriting, allowing you to express the letters and images you want exactly as you imagine them. The soft white color derived from cotton is what we sought, allowing colors to pop. It brings out the colors of ink and colored pens and has the capacity to accept writing to its fullest.

The notebook's durable thread binding opens flat for effortless writing. A ribbon marker helps you keep your place, and the unconventional cover design showcases the paper's appeal. The spine's cloth tape, typically concealed, is revealed, adding a distinctive touch. The visible attachment point of the ribbon marker adds to the notebook's charm. Additionally, it includes sticker labels for personalization.
