Basics of Bookbinding - Let's Make a Junk Journal with Jennifer Perkins

In this class we will put the junk in junk journaling - from the recycled cardboard covers to the new, vintage and hand painted papers you can choose from to make the pages of your journal. You will leave with your own adorable fabric covered journal, knowing a basic bookbinding stitch plus tons of tips and tricks for making your journal more interactive and fun (pockets, oh my!)
Everything you need will be provided from new and vintage papers to pompom trim, but as always feel free to bring any favorite pieces of ephemera you might have like to include. Items such as old greeting cards, sheets of scrapbook paper or pieces of your kid's school artwork all work great.

About Jennifer:
I’m an Austin-based creative content designer living by the motto: "glue stuff to stuff." I even have a tattoo of a hot glue gun to prove it! I’m a professional maker with eclectic tastes that I love to blend with vintage vibes, bold color and a heavy dose of kitsch. I’m slowly trying to bring the rest of the world over to the tack-a-liscious dark side. I’ve been working in the craft industry for over 25 years and have managed to build a multi-faceted career spanning television (HGTV, Rachael Ray), publishing (author of 5 craft books), brand partnerships (Michaels, JoAnn, Amazon) and art installations (Austin City Limits festival).
- Workshops are non-refundable, non-transferable or redeemable for cash, and all sales are final. We have committed to compensating our instructors for their time, supplies and talent.
- If you can't make it on the actual day, you will get the kit to finish the project at home. Workshop materials must be picked up in person from our store Little Craft Place and will not be mailed to participants who are unable to attend.
- In the event a workshop is cancelled, attendees will be fully refunded within 10 days of the event. Little Craft Fest/Little Craft Place reserve the right to cancel any class due to lack of participation.
- Workshops are not included in the daily pass or 3-day pass.
- Ticket holders grant Little Craft Fest/Little Craft Place permission to use their recorded likeness at the event, with the understanding that these images and videos may be used for future promotional activities.
- Little Craft Fest/Little Craft Place reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any participant from the venue at their discretion.
- Little Craft Fest/Little Craft Place is not liable for any personal or financial harm incurred at the venue, nor for any lost, stolen, or misplaced items.
