Floriography: Posies and Illustration with Jessica Roux

Immerse yourself in the art of Victorian-era floral arrangement and botanical illustration in this intimate, hands-on workshop inspired by Floriography: An Illustrated Guide to the Victorian Language of Flowers. Guided by author and illustrator Jessica Roux, participants will begin by creating posy bouquets using fresh flowers, learning about their historical significance and symbolism.

In the second half of the workshop, Jessica will lead an illustration session where participants will illustrate their posies using graphite pencils. Whether you're a seasoned artist or a beginner, this workshop offers a unique blend of history, creativity, and hands-on experience.

 

Class kit includes:

  • fresh cut flowers for arranging a posy 
  • Bristol paper for the drawing
  • 3B pencil
  • kneaded eraser
  • pencil sharpener
  • a sticker of a bouquet from Floriography

By purchasing this ticket, you agree to the following terms:
  1. Workshops are non-refundable, non-transferable or redeemable for cash, and all sales are final.  We have committed to compensating our instructors for their time, supplies and talent.  
  2. If you can't make it on the actual day, you will get the kit to finish the project at home. Workshop materials must be picked up in person from our store Little Craft Place and will not be mailed to participants who are unable to attend.
  3. In the event a workshop is cancelled, attendees will be fully refunded within 10 days of the event. Little Craft Fest/Little Craft Place reserve the right to cancel any class due to lack of participation.
  4. Workshops are not included in the daily pass or 3-day pass.
  5. Ticket holders grant Little Craft Fest/Little Craft Place permission to use their recorded likeness at the event, with the understanding that these images and videos may be used for future promotional activities.
  6.  Little Craft Fest/Little Craft Place reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any participant from the venue at their discretion.
