Hobonichi HON 2026 MOTHER: Clay Figurines [ENG/A5/Jan Start] HON

This is a collaboration techo with the SUPER Famicom™ game “MOTHER 2: Gyiyg Strikes Back!” (EarthBound in North America, released by Nintendo Co., Ltd. in 1994), for which Shigesato Itoi was the game designer. The cover of this HON book showcases clay figurines crafted specifically for the official MOTHER 2 guidebook. The design's background features bold, vibrant color blocks, adding a fun pop-culture vibe.




These figurines were made back when MOTHER 2 was released in 1994. The design uses a photograph of the clay figurines for the main character Ness alongside Paula, Jeff, Mr. Saturn, Ness’s loyal dog King, and a Starman. The photo has been unedited so you can enjoy seeing the figurines in their natural state, including all the wear and tear that has happened over time.




The back of the book cover showcases more clay figurines, featuring not just Poo and Pokey but also fan-favorite characters like Dr. Andonuts, Bubble Monkey, and the Mach Pizza Guy. Near the bottom, the logos for MOTHER 2 and Hobonichi are elegantly foil-pressed in white.




The book spine features prints of the figurines, allowing you to see the characters' faces when your techo is on the bookshelf, bringing a sense of joy at their sight.




This HON comes with a set of Mr. Saturn paper clips as a special bonus: one “In disguise.” and one “Boing.” The designs are printed on both the back and the front.




The Mr. Saturn pixel art clip has dotted lines on it. If you clip it to your techo or a note, it can provide a guide so Mr. Saturn can peek over the top.

This cover design allows everyone to spend the next year alongside the beloved characters of MOTHER 2 over 30 years after its initial release.

The contents are the same as the Hobonichi Techo Cousin book. The HON A5 size includes weekly pages which track a week in each two-page spread for easy planning and contain a handy time schedule.




The bookbinding on the HON has thread-stitch binding similar to the Hobonichi Techo books, so it opens 180 degrees onto the table. It stays flat even if you don’t hold it down.




The book uses thin and light yet durable Tomoe River paper. It's characterized by its ability to hold ink well and provide a smooth writing experience.




The back of the book has bonus pages, including Memories 2026, 12 Switches to Help You Focus, and For a Comfortable Night’s Sleep.




As a special exclusive only for the HON, this techo comes with a pencil board. The board is clear, with 5mm grid lines printed across it. There are measurements printed along one side in 1mm increments, which allow for use as a ruler. It also has a pen holder attached to it where users can store pens by their clips.
